Comic Con 2012 Time!
Jimmy Loram here with his report from Comic-Con 2012. Last year I didn't take NEARLY enough pictures of the attendees, let alone the famous types that I got close with, so I vowed to do more "snappy-snappy" and get as many pictures as I could. You'll see a lot of photos of attendees who worked tirelessly to create their costumes, most by hand, and it's awesome to see their hard work pay off.
I also got my heart broken one morning, but was able to move on, pick up the pieces, and REDEEM my day. That story to follow. Onto the 2012 Comic-Con photos!
Of course my first stop was with my lifelong favorite comic strip character.
I literally walked in the door, and lo and behold, there he was. I didn't even get my bag unfolded yet! As you can see, I'm a happy kid--with my own big matching Snoopy nose!
Comic-Con 2012 Steampunk Stuffs
One of the more visually appealing segment of the Comic-Con show is the Steampunkers. Love them or hate them, they have some of the most amazing gear wear. What's even more spectacular with what I saw is that most of their gear is functional. Nothing like a costume that will "Buzz, buzz, click, click!" right? From Abraham Lincoln the Vampire Slayer to Steam Punk Elf Babe, I am sad I missed their Noon Steam Punk Lady Gaga Tribute Dance in front of the convention center.

Yep. Stars abound at the Con every year and this year was no different. Walking around the exhibit hall, you're bound to run into those famous Sci-Fi types. I got the chance to meet Joe Hill (Stephen King's son--although he'd prefer you didn't know that, hence the name change) and got his new Locke & Key graphic novel signed. Oh, and the key, too. Not sure what I'm talking about? A radical graphic novel series called, "Locke & Key." I highly recommend getting thoroughly addicted to this series.
Glimpses of Stan Lee (89 years old and still going strong), Marvel Big Wigs like Joe Quesada & Axel Alonso & Arune Singh (unfortunate Habs fan--JUST KIDDING!), and more.
My big run in was more for my wife and daughter, who love "Falling Skies" on TNT. It just so happened the entire cast was on hand to sign! Well, no background actors or smaller characters, so not the "entire" cast, but the main ones. Love you, background actors and bit part players! You're still important!
Heartbreak...
Okay, so let's go back to 5:30am earlier in the day. We rushed to get to the Con by 7am and to get in line for what was to be our pinnacle: The 10th Anniversary of Firefly! My favorite sci fi series, this was to be an epic panel and we knew it would be packed. I wish I got some pics of the line! Let's just say the room seats 4,250. We ended up at about number 4,500 :-(. We didn't get in.
After I did an interview with Attack Of The Show, we left the line with our heads hanging low. What did we do? Got in line for my family's favorite show, Falling Skies. Let's just say, we got some pretty awesome seats.
first row!
After the panel, which was expertly moderated by Wil Wheaton (he's hilariously awesome), we rushed down to the Dark Horse booth to get signed posters and graphic novels and to meet the cast first hand.

Falling Skies 2012 Comic-Con Autograph Signing!
A great experience with some incredibly nice actors (and one exec. producer). It's always nice when the famous folk are quite agreeable and not pompous bastards. I am looking forward to more amazing action and thrills from the TNT show, Falling Skies!
Wrapping Up 2012 Comic-Con
I had to leave TWO DAYS EARLY! BOOO! Duty called and working at someone's wedding is much more important than geeking out--no, really. It is. I'll leave you with a few more photographs. First, some incredible costumes.
And now, this amazing costume, hand made, each piece sewn over with fabric...just WOW.

Note the Jayne hat...a stinging reminder how I missed Firefly's 10th anniversary. Ugh.
